Wealth Manager
Maria has been in the industry longer than she cares to admit. She joined Financial Services in 1981 but quickly realised her future lay in an advisory capacity and, in 1990, became an Adviser working within a firm of Chartered Accountants. She provided advice to small businesses and retail clients and, despite her height and stature, made an impact in a very male orientated environment. According to statistics, only 16% of Financial Advisers in the UK are female, and in 1990, this percentage was substantially lower.
In 1999, when the company merged with another advisory firm, she was promoted to Director status. She set up her own practice in 2006 and then joined forces with Prosperity Financial Solutions in 2009. Over the years, with dedication and commitment, she has built up large client base and has forged strong personal relationships with her clients. This is borne out of the fact that her client base has developed by personal referrals from existing clients. She has a strong work ethic and prides herself in putting her clients first and has found that one of the benefits of getting older is that she is now providing advice to the next generation of her existing clients. She is hoping to advise on 3rd generation clients!
She provides advice on pensions, investments and protection, and holds the qualification on Pension Transfers and Equity Release.
To relax, she enjoys experimenting in cooking and spending time with her family. Not quite Wodsworth, but she does enjoy writing funny poems for friends and family celebrations.
